REDDITCH RFC suffered a heavy 50-15 defeat against Worcester II although the scoreline was harsh on the Kingfishers who produced a spirited performance.
There was little to choose between the teams in the first quarter of the game whilst Worcester had a player stretchered off following a lengthy stoppage.
Despite Redditch being solid in defence, Worcester eventually found a gap and scored the opening try which was converted.
However, the Kingfishers turned the game in their favour when Matt Allen rounded off a fine counter attack before Will Spires landed a penalty from distance.
Worcester responded with three more tries before the break to head into the interval with a healthy 24-8 lead.
Fitness levels came into play in the second period as Redditch put in several tough tackles only for Worcester to cross four more times and take the game out of the Kingfishers’ reach.
The home side had the last laugh when Nathan Marthews barged his way over the line and Spires converted to add some respectability to the scoreline.
Redditch are next in action away at Five Ways Old Edwardians on Saturday, November 5 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Ash Lane.
