Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May sees Forge Mill Needle Museum hosts its popular annual 1940s event. The site will be welcoming costumed reenactors including The Redditch Home Guard who will set the scene and bring to life the 1940s. There will also be displays on costumes and rationing as well as model planes and boats from Little Radford Model Boat Club. A selection of vintage vehicles as well as some traditional fish and chips will all add to the atmosphere as well as an activity for children.
The site will be filled with a variety of 1940s music throughout the weekend as young people from Indigo Arts will be singing some classic songs in the morning. On Saturday afternoon local singer Helen Pearson will be showcasing a selection of songs and on Sunday afternoon The Violettes will be performing their vocal harmonies. Saturday evening will see the first event of the year in the cloisters with an evening of 40s and 50s music with Helen Pearson and Gary Grace. Tickets for this evening of music can be purchased online via a link on the museum website, www.forgemill.org.uk. Entry to the event in the day is £4 for adults with children free which includes entry into the museum as well as access to the children’s play area.
