An evening with Barbara Nice at the Redditch Palace as part of LGBT month

SPEND an evening with Barbara Nice and Friends at the Palace Theatre next Saturday (February 18).

Showing as part of LGBT month, housewife extraordinaire Barbara Nice is the alter ego of Holy Mary from Peter Kay’s ‘Phoenix Nights’.

According to The Times, Barbara Nice (Barbara as in Streisand, Nice as in the biscuit) is ‘a hybrid between Victoria Wood and Mrs Merton’.

Not satisfied with having her own sitcom on BBC Radio, Barbara is planning on getting the 146 bus and heading to Redditch for an evening’s entertainment alongside Maureen Younger (‘one of the best MCs in the country’ – Jo Enright) and Birmingham Northfield’s very own Lindsey Santoro (‘innate funny bones’ – Psychologies Magazine).

Expect an evening of fun, lots of laughter and if you’re really lucky the joys of experiencing dead celebrity musical chairs and a ‘rubbish raffle’.

Women and Theatre’s artistic director Janice Connolly aka Barbara Nice was recently awarded a British Empire Medal in the New Year’s Honour’s List for services to community arts in the West Midlands.

Janice originally trained as a teacher before working for Barnardos for several years as a youth worker.

It’s curtain up at 7.45pm and tickets are available now in person or at the box office on 01527 65203 priced at £12 or buy online at www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk
