A TOUCH of Scotland comes to Redditch next month when Astwood Bank Operatic Society stage Lerner & Loewe’s hit ‘Brigadoon’ at the Palace Theatre.

The story, which first hit the Broadway stage in 1947 tells of two American tourists who visits Scotland.

There they come across Brigadoon a mysterious Scottish village which makes an appearance only once every 100 years, and one of them falls in love with a local girl from Brigadoon.

Will they be forever parted when Brigadoon disappears again? You’ll have to head to the Palace to find out….

Starring Abi Cole and David Steele as the star-crossed lovers Fiona and Tommy, the show features fantastic songs such as ‘Almost Like Being in Love’ and is sure to delight all the family.

“Brigadoon comes from the pens of Lerner and Loewe, famous for My Fair Lady, Camelot, Gigi and Paint Your Wagon, so quality tunes and storyline are guaranteed,” said ABOS chairman, Steve Skinner.

The company, which relies totally on ticket sales, is generally better known for its performances of Gilbert and Sullivan or Viennese Operetta, so this is a rare foray into the American Musical for this year’s production.

The show opens on Wednesday, March 9 and runs until Saturday, March 12. More information is available, including how to book tickets at http://astwoodbankoperatic.co.uk/dev/wordpress/ or call 01527 63319, or Email: [email protected] .
