Bridgerton is Such a Hit that it Even Inspired a Themed Slingo Game

Originally penned by Julia Quinn and set in the days of London Regency, Bridgerton has become one of the biggest Netflix Originals going. With hundreds of millions of subscribers worldwide, the show has introduced viewers to a great many iconic and stunning locations dotted across the UK.

At the time of writing, Season 4 was well underway, being in the middle of the streamer’s new trend of splitting blocks into two parts. Part 2 of Bridgerton will go live on 26 February, but until then, there’s plenty of Bridgerton to enjoy. In fact, the show has become such a hit that it’s inspired an in-theme game hosted beyond the streamer.

Certainly wearing its inspirations on its sleeve, the Bingoton Slingo game is a game that blends two distinct themes twice over, as shown by the two portmanteaus. Bingoton, naturally, showcases the ties between the bingo-style game and the hit story of Bridgerton. Slingo is also a combination, being a slot-infused game of bingo.

Essentially, it’s a themed Bridgerton bingo game played on a board that combines slot spins and bingo cards. In the decadent dual room of the game, you’ll spin one reel to play from two different cards. On the green side in the well-lit room, you’re looking to make lines to get multipliers. The purple, darker side sets the initial win amount.

Ticking off lines on both sides of the game is the key to landing either of the jackpots. The Suitor Jackpot and the Ms Bingoton Jackpot can be won from the Jackpot Reel. To get to that, hit a green gem or a purple gem after dabbing a double slingo across the two game grids.

The setting and the romanticised way in which the people are depicted within it have made for an almost iconic theme to draw from. This is only further cemented by the rampant popularity of the show. After all, the all-time top ten list from Netflix, Forbes reports, shows Season 1 in seventh with 113 million views and Season 3 in ninth.

Show to Inspire a Game, Media to Inspire a Trip

In recent years, a kind of entertainment tourism has become a huge driver of people planning their trips. First made popular in modern times by The Lord of the Rings trilogy, showcasing the beauty of New Zealand, later creations like Game of Thrones further propelled a desire to go to filming locations.

Unfortunately, Bridgerton isn’t filmed anywhere in Redditch or Worcestershire. That hasn’t stopped Visit Worcestershire from making a dedicated Bridgerton tourism guide, though. The likes of The Walled Gardens at Coome and Hartlebury Castle certainly appease the appetite for experiencing Regency-era builds and settings.

You’d have to travel beyond Worcestershire to visit the opulent filming locations of the show. You could go to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, which is Queen Charlotte’s home in the show, or Lincolnshire’s Grimsthorpe Castle, which played the part of Lord Hawkins’ residence.

Fans waiting for the second part of Season 4 or even those who’re now waiting for Season 5 can still enjoy the show in different ways, either by turning to different platforms or by going on a trip.
