A TRIBUTE to the needle industry which forged Studley and Redditch is being showcased at a local art gallery.
Created by pupils at St Mary’s RC Primary School in Studley ‘A Stitch in Time’ has involved all the students preparing work which will be exhibited at the Artists Workhouse gallery on the Redditch Road this weekend.
Year 6 pupils have taken the three needle statue at the Barley Mow island as their inspiration while Year 5 will be showcasing felting work, while other years have contributed cross stitching and more.
Some written work will also be on show while students hope to enact a play about the needle industry and the battle to get extra fans put in the factories.
It’s all happening at the Arts Workhouse in Studley this Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16 between 11am and 4pm.
