Double bill set to shine at Jack Blackman's Tuery Sessions in Alcester

Redditch Editorial 10th May, 2017   0

TWO very special Yorkshire-based singer-songwriters will be performing at Jack Blackman’s Tuery Sessions at The Cross Keys, Alcester this Sunday (May 14).

George Boomsma’s effortless vocals and sensitive guitar playing evoke an intimate atmosphere that silences even the rowdiest of crowds.

He has supported artists such as Natty, The Travelling Band and Skinny Lister, been played on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music and performed at Latitude Festival 2016 on the BBC Introducing stage.

His debut album was released summer 2016.

People Poems is the alt-folk solo project of Leeds-based musician/songwriter Harry Orme.

Under the ‘People Poems’ name he has toured the UK and Europe, and supported artists across the folk/indie spectrum such as Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Big Thief, Emily Portman, Sam Sweeney & Pete Flood (Bellowhead), Ciaran Lavery, Luke Concanon (Nizlopi) and Adam Barnes.

As usual, the evening will feature a raffle containing music by all of the artists performing and will conclude with a jam session organised by host Jack Blackman. Free entry. Music starts at 6pm.
