Menus are bursting with fresh, contemporary flavours combined with a modern British flair and dishes showcase the best seasonal produce and kitchen gardens.
Options change daily according to the pick of the produce available, but on our visit we sampled an asparagus dish served with hazelnuts, golden turnip, watercress and a lightly poached hens egg to start. The rich fresh egg and the tender young asparagus are always a match made in heaven, but the flavours and colours on this plate were balanced to perfection.
For the main, we tried a vegan dish of roasted cauliflower with baby carrots and spring greens, and a meat dish of pan fried stone bass, confit potato and roasted bone sauce.
What came through with the vegan dish was the texture and freshness of the vegetables, complimented well with a light oil seasoning. The fish was well cooked and the accompanying flavours rich and
