TV personality Nick Owen appears at the Palace Theatre in Redditch on Wednesday to life the lid on life in front of the cameras handling both sport and news.

Nick was also ITV Sport’s main presenter for six years, taking over from Brian Moore in 1986. Apart from the regular weekly show, Midweek Sport Special, he also anchored the Olympics of 1988 and the World Cup of 1990.

He’s also hosted three game shows, reported for the old travel programme Wish You Were Here and presented all the royal film premier programmes on ITV from 1986 to 1992, when he had considerable involvement with Princess Diana.

He’s been fortunate enough to have interviewed scores of high profile figures includng Eric Morecambe, Bob Hope and Piers Brosnan.




Of course these days he’s best known for fronting Midlands Today and hints that his long term sparring partner Suzanne Virdee will be in the audience on the night.
