Goalkeeper Adam Harrison Jumps On An Opportunity To Move To Redditch United

Redditch Editorial 12th Jan, 2023   0

When you hear your club is set to sign a 20-goal scorer or a creative genius who can break down even the most vigorous defence, you cannot help but become ecstatic as you wager on sports betting odds.

Only some people are equally thrilled when a club acquires a new central defender or an experienced goalkeeper.

Managers and clubs naturally desire to discover the next superstar before another team does. Getting talented athletes for a low price and transforming them into a star is inexpensive and makes fans happy.

However, others claim that the greatest method to become a successful goalie is to invest heavily in abilities that have already been proven effective, and Redditch United has done that.

Last season, Harrison departed Tividale and joined league rivals Worcester City FC. However, a statement from Worcester City confirms that the formidable goalkeeper Adam Harrison is leaving because a team from a higher tier of the football pyramid has contacted them.

Adam joined the Blue and Whites during Tim Harris’ tenure as head coach. He appeared in 28 games throughout the season. This season, Adam played 22 times for City, raising his total number of appearances for the team to 50. He served as team captain several times.

Adam viewed the opportunity to move up two levels in the non-league system as too excellent to pass up.

Adam’s labour and effort this season, particularly in the final few months, have been outstanding for the City team. His former teammates could not hide expressing their gratitude and best wishes for the future.

Early in December, Harrison played and captained last when they lost 5-4 to Whitchurch Alport.

The Man in Goal

Adam began playing football between the ages of 5 and 6. When he was approximately seven years old, he joined a local squad after playing primarily for his school.

Beginning as a central defender, he was moved to goal for one game while scouts were present, and he remained there. Then, at the age of eight, he joined Leicester City, where he remained for over ten years before being released.

He subsequently joined Bedworth United. After a brief stay there, he moved to Tividale and resided there for some time before returning here.

Unquestionably, one of his greatest games came when he played for Leicester away from home. Participating in cup events in Qatar, Germany, Ireland, and France was a lot of fun for him.

Staff and fans have utilised social media to express their admiration for the goalie.

Kevin Prece, the football secretary, said: “Adam Harrison is a wonderful young man who also looks terrific in pink. You will undoubtedly be missed, friend.”

Commentator Tuomas Kousa said: “Best wishes to Adam as he continues forward. He has performed admirably for us and merits the opportunity to prove himself at a higher level.”

The young man admired goalkeepers Casillas and Neuer. Both of them are exceptionally skilled in their respective fields. Casillas is only 6ft tall; therefore, he inspired him because he believed that if he could perform at the most significant level, so could anybody else.

Neuer’s control of his half is ridiculous. One of the most effective techniques to block a shot ever devised. After daily training with Schmeichel and seeing his technique, Adam should be at the top of his game soon.

Adam Looking to do Well at Redditch United

The goalkeeper’s position is the only one where another person cannot rectify your faults. When the goalkeeper commits an error, it nearly always results in a goal. If an outfielder makes a mistake, a teammate is nearby to clean it up, or the keeper will provide an additional line of defence.

A club might lose the entire season if they gamble on its goaltender; hence it’s key to note that Adam holds his UEFA B goalkeeper licence and is assisting great Eric Steele.

According to him, the UEFA B goalkeeper course was a formidable challenge. Since he had always been a goalie, he believed teaching would be simple, but it was not.

“The position of a goalkeeper coach has evolved significantly during the previous decade,” he explains.

“Eric Steele was an outstanding judge. When he approached me to discuss my first session, I believed I was doing rather well. He then demonstrated how he would have dealt with the scenario. I simply thought, well, that’s how things are done nowadays.”

However, he must demonstrate that he is a genuine specialist or face the repercussions of failing to live up to Redditch’s legacy of brilliance.
