PACK up your troubles in your old kit bag and head for Feckenham Village Hall next Saturday, February 6 when The Gramophones Theatre Company bring their brilliant show End to End to the stage.
It tells the story of travelling from Lands End to John O’Groats – all on a budget of £1 per day! Impossible? Not at all!
In April 2012 three women set off to travel from one end of Great Britain to the other, trusting only their resourcefulness and the kindness of strangers they completed the 874-mile journey and back in just 18 days.
They completed their unusual expedition on as many varieties of transport as they possibly could including a pink tractor, rode through Nottingham in three Back to the future De Loreans and left Edinburgh in style on an old fashioned red London bus…and, somewhere along the way, there were earthy encounters with wheelbarrows and flighty fun with microlites.
In ‘End to End’ – the audience meets the characters the ladies met on their epic journey and share their remarkable and often hilarious experiences and it’s a grand show to brighten up a February night.
‘End to End’ began life at the Edinburgh Fringe where is won critics awards and full houses. The company then took it on tour along the route followed by the ladies in the play – and Feckenham’s on the national tour.
Suitable for all ages, the show has been brought to Redditch’s rural outpost by Shindig – the county’s performing arts scheme and is sponsored by Arts Council England, Worcestershire County Council and Redditch Borough Council.
Curtain up at 7.30pm and tickets at £10 are on sale at the Village Shop and The Rose & Crown in Feckenham or online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/feckenham or by phone on 0333 666 3366.
