Love and deception set to come alive in Mozart comic opera

Redditch Editorial 15th Mar, 2022   0

THE comic opera Cosi Fan Tutte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is coming to three stages all within easy reach if Redditch.

First performed in 1790 it’s tale of love, fidelity and deception that has delighted audiences for centuries.

This production is by Consensus Opera, founded by Tim and Claire Johnson of Stratford-upon-Avon in 2007.

Their aim of bringing the best local actors and singers together to perform works combining drama with high quality operatic music, whilst at the same time raising money for worthy charitable causes has brought them widespread success.

Underpinning it all is a desire to bring operatic music in a truly dramatic setting to a wider audience.

Cosi Fan Tutte can be seen at Henley-in-Arden Memorial Hall this Saturday, March 19 in a performance in aid of Memorial Hall funds.

Then there are performances at The Bear Pit Theatre, Rother Street, Stratford-upon-Avon on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 22-23, before a final staging in The Guesten Hall, Avoncroft Museum of Buildings, Bromsgrove, in aid The Bromsgrove Society and Bromsgrove Court Leet on Thursday, March 24.

Tickets for the Stratford performance are available from the RSC box office on 01789 333935 or on the door priced £14, £12 (concessions). Tickets for the other performances are available by emailing [email protected] or on the door.
