GLASTONBURY, Download and Leeds are the most visited music festivals by people from the West Midlands – but one in four have been victims of theft while celebrating.

Research by Together Mutual Insurance found that one in four people (24 per cent) in the West Midlands have been victims of theft at a UK festival with the average amount of stolen goods amounting to £179 per person.

The study also found that must-grab festival items for thieves included jewellery (13 per cent), mobile phones (12 per cent) and cash (9 per cent).

When it comes to reporting thefts, four in five (77 per cent) of people from the West Midlands took time to inform the festival authorities or police in a last ditched attempt to catch the thief.
