FROM REDDITCH to Hawaii: Papa John’s new Hawaiian pizza transported reporter Joshua Godfrey from grey skies to the sandy beaches of Honolulu with every bite.
As the large pizza box arrived in the office, it wasn’t just my eyes that lit up at the sight of the doughy goodness, but the rest of the staff also wanted a slice of the action as they followed the scent of the freshly made Hawaiian pizza.
The new premium pizza, available at Papa John’s on Church Green West, was packed with fresh pineapple along with pulled ham hock and chunky pieces of ham which had been slow cooked for seven hours on a bed of melted mozzarella – it was enough to make my mouth water.
The pineapple slices were juicy and thick and generously spread across the pizza base, which, with the tenderness of the pulled ham hock, combined to create a taste sensation. With each bite the pizza became more addictive.
Being a massive fan of Hawaiian pizzas, I’ve definitely had my fair share over the years. Papa John’s new recipe is definitely worth the price with a small Hawaiian coming out at just £5.
Even if you’re completely against pineapple featuring on a pizza, Papa Johns’ new recipe might just change your mind.
