Redditch Editorial 2nd Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016

WITH just seven weeks left until the summer holidays, now is the time to get young performers booked into the Palace Youth Theatre’s summer school.

Budding young actors and actresses can take part in the two week summer school which will be putting on a performance of Sweeney Todd (school edition) in August.

Summer School is open to young people aged 8 – 22 who will come together for two weeks of intense – but fun – rehearsals with professionals before putting on two performances at the Palace Theatre.

Liz Tabberer, youth theatre and arts officer, said: “If you’re looking for something different to get involved in over the summer then what could be more exciting than staging a show in just two weeks? If you’re concerned parents – it’s the school edition so no need to panic! Sign up today to challenge your creativity, make new friends and develop your performance skills.”

Rehearsals will run from August 1-5 and 8-12from 10am to 4pm with two shows on Saturday, August 13 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Summer School costs £150 per child or £75 sibling discount. To book, please contact the Palace Theatre box office on 01527 65203.

Deadline for registration is Friday, July 1.
