Radio classic hits the Artrix stage tomorrow night

Redditch Editorial 28th Apr, 2017   0

A STAGE version of hit BBC radio show I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again comes to Bromsgrove’s Artrix tomorrow (Saturday).

Angus Prune OBE is back with the show which is dubbed ‘the custard pie of radio comedy’.

It will be performed in classic radio comedy style with music and sound effects by The OFFSTAGE Theatre Group which recreates the anarchic and surreal cult comedy show from the 1960s and 70s.

The audience will be delighted by ‘wicked parodies, glorious puns and manic songs’ and there will be a greatest hits compilation of material by Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie from the original series.

The radio show is credited with giving birth to several much-loved classics including The Goodies and Monty Python’s Flying Circus – not to mention I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.

On its tour the production will feature a cameo role from one of the original cast or a celebrity fan – tomorrow’s will be Tim Brooke-Taylor.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets, which are £14 (£12 for students and over 60s), are available at www.artrix.co.uk or by calling 01527 577330.
