Redditch is a town that has a thriving, vibrant business scene.
The Redditch Business Awards is back again this year and aims to showcase the very best of the local business community.
It follows on from a successful awards show in 2024 and promises to be an even bigger spectacle to enjoy.
The 2025 Redditch Business Awards is organised by Redditch BID and is due to take place on Saturday 13th September at the Palace Theatre. Nominations are currently open across a wide range of categories and local firms are already eyeing up which award they might stand a chance of scooping.
If last year’s event was anything to go by, attendees are guaranteed a night of emotion, pride and joy as they celebrate the town’s entrepreneurial spirit. But what else can we expect to see?
Redditch Business Awards 2025 categories
As with other awards ceremonies around the UK that highlight top online sites with innovative features or businesses that set the highest standards, the business awards in Redditch are split over various categories.
Some of the biggest are shown below and aim to recognise the finest business talent in the town:
- Business of the Year – this is one of the most hotly contested categories and honours local companies that have delivered exceptional performance, eye-catching innovation, and a real focus on excellence within the local community over the last 12 months.
- Manufacturing Business of the Year – an award that is based on the town’s proud manufacturing history and another that is always keenly contested. This category rewards local businesses that develop services, technologies, products or processes that have positively impacted their industry.
- Customer Service Excellence Award – this award pays homage to local firms that have delivered high-level customer support consistently over the past year.
- Charity of the Year – Redditch is a town with a huge heart and this sees many charities operating within it. The ‘Charity of the Year’ category is focused on charities that deliver sustainable benefits to society and the community that surrounds them.
- Employer of the Year – a much-sought-after award that recognises Redditch companies with a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Redditch Community Hero Award – this is a special category that highlights the efforts of unsung individuals/organisations that have made major contributions to the local community.
Although the above doesn’t show all the categories represented at this year’s ceremony, it gives a flavour of just what it’s all about.
Which sectors will feature most at the upcoming awards?
The Redditch Business Awards 2025 aims to celebrate the vibrant nature of local entrepreneurship. With this in mind, we can expect some sectors that play a major role in local life to feature most often
Manufacturing is one business niche that should shine prominently and this is no surprise when you remember the town’s proud manufacturing history.
Although recently closed Greyville Enterprises will sadly not make any shortlists, other local manufacturing companies such as Thorlux Lighting will be in attendance. Redditch remains a real hub in the UK for innovative manufacturing and precision engineering, so it’s safe to assume that this sector will feature highly at the awards.
It’s also likely that the town’s retail and hospitality sector will feature a lot at this year’s awards. Both industries are pivotal to the business scene locally and a major source of employment. Look for who comes out on top when the winner of ‘Hospitality Business of the Year’ is announced or which local shop scoops the ‘Shoppers Choice Award’.
We should also see the wellbeing, hair and beauty sector putting on a strong showing at this year’s event. Firms such as Bridge To Beauty, 24/7 Fitness and Loft Hair & Beauty will be battling hard for an award and showing how this industry is flourishing in the local area.
Why is this event important for Redditch?
Among all the glitz and glamour of such an evening, it can be easy to forget just how important this event is for the town.
By getting together to celebrate the best local entrepreneurs, Redditch stands out as a supportive, positive place to set up a company. This in turn encourages more people to invest in the town and open up businesses here. As well as boosting local employment, this also boosts the local economy and makes Redditch a better place to live.
