PANTO fever has struck Redditch as the tale of Snow White and the Severn Dwarfs graces The Palace Theatre stage.
Actress, singer and dancer Naomi Slater will take the lead role as Snow White herself, returning to the theatre having performed in Redditch throughout her acting career. Nicole Faraday, starring as the Wicked Queen, also returns to the Palace for her second consecutive year in a Redditch panto.
The cast, which includes TV funnyman Dave Benson Phillips the comic Muddles, stand-up comedian Andre Vincent starring as the larger than life Dame Dolly and actor Paul Winterford plays Herman the Henchman, have promised to give the crowd something to really smile about this year, with a production sprinkled with magic, giggles and Christmas tradition.
Headlining the classic family pantomime is Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall, who is set to charm audiences with his powerhouse vocal talents as Snow White’s handsome prince.
Naomi, who play Snow White said: “Being a princess is every little girl’s dream. I hope i can inspire all young girls in the audience, and give them a positive message about who they are.
“Panto is just great, because it’s got humour and comedy that everyone can get involved in. I’ve always loved it and it really makes my Christmas.”
Wicked Queen, Nicole Faraday added: “Live panto performances always have the chance of something going wrong, which gives an adrenaline rush and an exciting atmosphere.
“Nothing beats the amazing feeling at the end of a performance on stage when we hear the audience reaction.”
The Palace Theatre’s production of Snow White and the Severn Dwarfs is on stage now until December 31.
