Redditch ready to rock in aid of brilliant charity tackling taboo subject

Redditch Editorial 21st Jun, 2019   0

SEVEN rising metal and punk bands will be rocking through the Redditch night on Saturday in a special charity gig in aid of the Mental Health Foundation.

It promises a great night of fantastic music and all for serious heartfelt reasons – raising awareness of suicide in men and crucially, how to prevent it.

Redditch’s very own Chaos Experience and Get Rek’d will be performing along with bands from further afield such as Silence The Crows, Recall The Remains, The Jackals, Second Cities and Sue.

Organiser Shannon Sabin hopes the evening will help break the stigma that men may experience regarding their mental health and emotions.

“Please help me make this event as amazing as we can, not for me but every single person suffering right now, whether in silence or openly, and to send the message to men and boys that it’s okay not to feel okay,” she said.

It’s all happening this Saturday, June 22 at the Mettis HDA Sports Club, Cherry Tree Walk, Batchley B97 6BP from 7.30pm and costs just £3 on the door with all proceeds going to the Mental Health Foundation.
