REDDITCH’S Palace Youth Theatre group is holding a drama filled open evening next week for anyone thinking of joining up and their families.

PYT members and staff will be meeting and greeting at the open evening in the Alcester Street theatre, which will include impromptu performances, a chance to see what happens in sessions and tea and coffee for parents.

The group will be extending a warm welcome to prospective new members for the Rise and Shine (five to eight years old), Out There (eight to 18 skills focused group) and AIM (16-25 year olds with learning disabilities) groups on the night. Current group members and staff will be on hand to explain what they do.

The event is on Tuesday, January 19 from 6.45pm to 7.45pm.

Lizzi Tabberer, Youth Theatre and Arts Officer, said: “The PYT is one of the most popular things that goes on at the Palace Theatre and it just seems to go from strength to strength.

“The future of local theatre belongs to our young people, so pop along to our open evening, have a chat with me, other staff and group members and then take a look at what goes on during a session. The PYT promises lots of fun whichever group you attend so if you think it might be for you come and take a look.”

New members will be able to register for the youth theatre on the night if they wish.
