Retro Christmas disco show comes to Redditch

Redditch Editorial 24th Oct, 2016   0

A RETRO disco show is coming to the Palace Theatre in Redditch in November, complete with numerous tribute performances and a Saturday Night Fever Dance routine.
Groovy Gazza Productions are bringing ‘A Salute to the 1970s’ to the Palace on November 25 and alongside tributes to Rod Stewart, Elton John, David Bowie, Suzi Quatro, Blondie, and heart throbs Donny Osmond and David Cassidy, the show will feature a special Kate Bush performance from the UK’s own Lorrie Brown who portrays the singing star onstage.
From 7.30pm, guests are invited to boogie onto the dancefloor in their finest 1970s attire to enjoy the best music the decade had to offer.
Gary Birtles co-producer, said: “This is my era and I remember how much fun the music was in the 70s and the local discos were packed,
“It certainly was a great time to be a teenager, and if you fancy strutting your stuff and getting your 70s outfits out of the closet again, please come along.”
The event coincides with Kate Bush’s release of her album from her Hammersmith Odeon show in 2014 and Kate Bush tribute artist Lorrie said: “I am so excited to be portraying one of my heroes from the 70’s music scene.
“I love dressing up and I also get an opportunity to use my dance training.
“In this show we have over 40 costumes, so before the show nobody sees me as I’m usually behind a mountain of ironing.”
The original show has also been adapted to feature some classic 1970s Christmas hits and tickets costing £17.50 are available from the box office on 01527 65203 or http://www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk/
