ADELE fans are invited to see a soul-stirring performer take the Palace Theatre by storm next month when Someone Like You – The Adele Songbook comes to Redditch for the very first time.
From 7.30pm on Friday May 27, Katie Markahm, who was hand-picked by Adele herself on Graham Norton’s BBC Adele Special, has the voice and charisma to deliver all your favourite Adele hits in a concert performance.
Touring UK theatres, Someone Like You is a celebration of one of the UK’s finest singer-songwriters and is set to take audiences on a soul-stirring journey from break up to make up.
Katie said: “This is the story of Adele. When I first come on stage and the audiences hear only my voice, I hope they will be transported and taken on a journey.
“I have always loved theatre and being on the stage, so to be able to combine singing with my passion for theatre is a dream come true.
“We’re able to put our own personality into her songs and I think the overall performance gains a lot from this. It’s not simply a tribute show, but a real performance, inspired by her voice and songwriting. There is drama and spectacle as well as the music and when it all comes together it is a captivating experience.”
For more than two hours, Katie and the band faithfully recreate the three record-breaking albums 19, 21 and 25 – including Chasing Pavements, Make You Feel My Love, Set Fire To The Rain, Someone Like You, Hello, Rolling In The Deep and the multi-million seller Skyfall.
“It’s really an emotional journey through her albums – and we do see people moved to tears when we play some of her songs,” she added.
Tickets for the suitable-for-all show cost £20 including booking fee and are available from the Box Office or at www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk
