Something for everyone as Volante Strings tune up for Hanbury concert

VOLANTE Strings will hit new heights when they perform their Summer Strings Serenade on July 9.

The 14-strong ensemble are to deliver a musical programme to suit all tastes at St Mary’s, Hanbury Church, which is not only the model for BBC Radio 4’s The Archers church, St Stephen’s, but also happens to command one of the best views in all Worcestershire.

Volante Strings perform without conductor in true chamber style and enjoy playing music from early Baroque right up to the current day, particularly relishing first performances of works especially arranged or written for them by players and local composers.

As such the programme offers a broad appeal with music by Vivaldi, Elgar and Pablo Casals rubbing shoulders with pieces by Eric Coates and Frank Bridge, not to mention a medley of Beatles hits.

Tickets are £10 including interval wine and nibbles, children are free, the concert starts at 7.30pm and for satnavers the church can be found at B60 4BP.
