With the Rugby World Cup well underway, it highlights the importance of keeping the future of rugby alive and kicking, especially in the local community.

At Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Football Club, they are trying to do just that. The team more well known as ‘The Bees’ are on an exciting quest to open up the club’s ‘hive’ to more new players who are interested in joining their age grade section’s Minis & Juniors (M&J) teams. So, if you have children, boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 16 who may enjoy an age-appropriate free taster session of rugby training, then please contact Peter Carr (Head of Age Grade Rugby) on 07840 436 709 or just come along this Sunday (with appropriate sports kit) to join in the joy of rugby.

Prices are £50 a year for children over 9 years of age who are starting their first year at the club (thereafter £85), £50 a year for children aged 7 – 9 years, and £25 for under 6’s.

As well as encouraging new members for the M&J’s, the Senior Squad are always on the lookout to recruit new players as they continue their journey in Counties 2 Midlands West (East), and their Hornets who have joined the Greater Birmingham Social Merit Programme. Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.15pm and fixtures most Saturdays. The Clubhouse is always lively after a game and new additions are warmly welcomed. Whether you are a new, returning or existing player feel free to either join us at Portway or get in touch through the social media channels or via their website: www.beesrugby.com.

The Bees are guided by a One Club ethos, which means that all the members, from the Senior Squad to the M&J’s, are part of the same family and share the same vision. The link between the Senior Squad and the M&J’s is not only a source of pride, but also a way of developing the future stars of the club. With influence from the Senior Squad feeding down to the M&J’s; as well as supporting each other in training and fixtures. The one club ethos fosters a sense of belonging, respect, and loyalty among all the members of Birmingham & Solihull RFC and creates a strong bond that transcends age and ability.
