Bikers urged to Ride Out to help save lives for Midlands Air Ambulance service

MOTORCYCLISTS across Worcestershire are being urged to take part in this year’s Bike4Life Ride Out and Festival to raise funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance charity.

Tickets for the event, which takes place on April 28, have now gone on sale with more than 600 snapped up in the first 24 hours.

Bike4Life, which culminates in a large festival at Weston Park in Shifnal, is the charity’s biggest event of the year and usually attracts 3,500 bikes for the mass ride out.

This year is the 12th Bike4Life and the event is sponsored by The Bike Insurer.

As the event continues to grow, the ride out will follow a slightly longer 26-mile route this year to the Bike4Life Festival’s new home.

Festival-goers, families and the local community can expect a variety of live music, a food village, artisan market stalls and a kids zone with funfair rides and arena displays.

The ride out will start in Meole Brace Park and Ride in Shrewsbury. Riders will have the open road, as the A5, M54 and A41 will be shut to other road users for the ride out to Weston Park.

Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Each year, the motorbiking community comes out in full support of our charity by taking part in our Bike4Life Ride Out.

“Their presence on the roads on the day not only helps to raise awareness of our service and biker safety, the riders taking part are also raising vital funds to help save lives across the region.”

Ed Bevis, commercial and marketing director for The Bike Insurer, added: “Following an amazing event in 2023, The Bike Insurer is proud to announce its continued support of Bike4Life by sponsoring the 2024 Ride Out and Festival.

“We look forward to another fantastic event, with the Festival set to be bigger and better than ever before.”

Tickets for the ride out and separately for those just wanting to attend the festival are now on sale online at the website at bike4lifefest.com.
