THERE will be plenty of activities available at Hanbury Hall over the next two weeks to celebrate the Festival of Blossom.
Events will take place between Monday, April 15 and Sunday, April 28 and will include blossom bathing, crafts, talks and storytelling.
Hanbury Hall is home to several species of blossom trees, including plum, pear, apple, and cherry blossom.
Inspired by the Japanese tradition of ‘Hanami’, or flower viewing, the Festival, created by the National Trust, invites people to take a moment and appreciate the beauty of blooming blossoms.
Visitors to Hanbury Hall will be able to take part in blossom bathing in the walled orchard or take part in yoga beneath the apple blossom.
Join gardener Nicki for a short talk amongst the apple trees to learn more about the historic orchard at 12.15pm on Wednesday, April 17 and 24.
Get creative in an art workshop, Spring Flowers in Watercolour, led by local artist Shirley Sloman between 1pm and 3pm on Thursday, April 25.
In the workshop, people will be able to learn how to use wet paper with watercolours and how to draw and paint blossom trees.
There will also be blossom crafts for children in the Long Gallery between 11am and 3pm on Sunday, April 21 and 28.
In the second-hand bookshop, local author Ruth Goddard will be conducting a storytelling lesson and giving a reading from her books ‘Blossom and the Bees’.
The storytelling lesson will take place between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, April 20, Sunday, April 21 and Saturday, April 27.
