Redditch businesses urged to do survey to help lobby Government

LOCAL businesses are being urged to take part in a two county survey which can be used to lobby for change from central government.

Every three months Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce holds its quarterly survey, providing s snapshot of the impact of the current crisis on business sales, orders, recruitment and investment plans.

This data will then be used in lobbying government and key policy makers to drive change to help support your business during this challenging time.

Sharon Smith, chief executive of the Chamber said: “Businesses have been faced with a difficult first three months to start the year.

“The new relationship with the EU, changing how we operate in many ways alongside a third national lockdown has revealed a handful of challenges for businesses to navigate for quarter 1 of 2021.

“We are looking for your views on how business has been for you in the first three months and what your biggest barriers to growth have been.

“This data will then go towards our 1st Quarterly Economic Survey of the new year which will then be used to present your view to key decision makers on what further business support is needed.”

The Chamber says the feedback will also help government put measures in place to help support businesses and help the economy bounce back quicker when it is able to do so.

In last quarters report, (Quarter 4 2020), for the third quarter in a row, more businesses experienced a reduction in their cash flow than those experiencing an improvement.

This economic indicator was seen as a true reflection of how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted businesses across the two counties.
