ALVECHURCH Women have confirmed the appointment of Danny Brierley as the club’s new first team manager.
Former Church boss Ben Davis resigned from the role after 18 months at the helm.
Alvechurch finished four points clear of the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division relegation zone last season.
And the club have acted swiftly to replace outgoing boss Davis with Brierley.
Brierley has previously worked for Droitwich Spa, Kidderminster Harriers and Redditch United from under-10 to under-21 age groups.
Brierley said: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to take the women’s team forward.
“This season will be a chance for this talented young group to take what they’ve learnt from their first season in this division and kick on.
“I’m looking forward to competing in the league and across the various cup competitions, being highly competitive in every game.
“In particular, I’m looking forward to competing in the Women’s FA Cup – I am a massive fan of the FA Cup. It’s an attractive project for many reasons. I can’t wait to get started.”
Alvechurch played at Step Five of the women’s game for the first time in their history last season.
