KERON Jackson feels Leamington punished his Redditch United side for their mistakes after the Reds slipped to a 3-0 home defeat against the Brakes.

The Reds have now lost their last four league matches without scoring as goals from Will Shorrock, Rob Evans and Dan Meredith settled the game at Valley Stadium.

And the result leaves Redditch fifth in the Southern League Premier Central table, one point inside the play-off places.

Reds assistant manager Jackson said: “We started really well, we were unfortunate not to be one-nil up early, we’re getting punished at the minute for all of our mistakes.

“The first goal is disappointing, someone has run off us at a set-piece, the second goal – we can’t concede goals in that manner – I’m disappointed, we’re going through a blip.

“Four defeats on the bounce is unlike us but that’s the reality of what’s happening, we’ve got to bounce back quickly, the game’s are relentless.

“The boys are in good spirits still, it’s my job to lift them and make sure they stay on it, I still believe we’ve got enough within the squad to achieve the targets we’ve set.

“Telford, I look at the depth in their squad and the quality they’ve got, it’s going to be so tough but we’ll go their with confidence and look forward to it.”

The Brakes broke the deadlock on 38 minutes when Shorrock showed great composure to lift a shot over Adam Harrison after Theo Streete nodded on Evans’ long free-kick into the box.

And the visitors doubled their lead on the hour mark as Evans curled a stunning free-kick into the top left corner of the goal from 25-yards out.

Paul Holleran’s side completed the scoring in injury time as Dan Meredith lashed a shot past Harrison from 25-yards out from Josh Quaynor’s driven pass.

Redditch travel to AFC Telford United on Good Friday (March 29) with kick-off at 3pm at New Bucks Head.
