REDDITCH United have confirmed the return of young midfielder Dennis Digie following a successful trial period with the club.
The 22-year-old previously played for the club in the 2021/22 season at the age of just 18 and returned to the Reds on a trial basis this summer.
Digie has since played for Yate Town, Hartpury University, Lye Town and AFC Wulfrunians and impressed in Redditch’s first two pre-season friendlies this season.
Redditch manager Tim Flowers said: “We are really pleased to welcome Den’ back to Redditch United, he’s obviously been at the club before so understands the ins and outs of the place a little bit.
“He comes to us with obvious assets in terms of his physicality, his work rate, his athleticism and so I see him as a bit of a destructive type of midfielder.
“He can get around the pitch, put a foot in, break play up and keep it simple. He adds that physicality as mentioned before, and adds height in both boxes.
“He’ll further provide competition and we’ve got multiple games for players to try and stake their claim.
“In terms of his personality, he’s a great person to have around the place; he’s polite, honest, fit as a fiddle and he’s showed up very well in the physical tests so far with our GPS trackers.
“He’s right up there in training and the games with the distance he covers.
“We’re pleased to have him with us and look forward to working with him and seeing what he can put on the table going forwards.”
Digie added: “It feels good to be back, especially seeing a few faces I recognise around the ground.
“The direction that the club is going in both on and off the field is something I want to be a part of moving forwards.
“Since I was last here, I’d say I’ve matured a lot in terms of some of my decision making and with that growth, I have developed more of a presence on the pitch which helps in midfield.”
