MATT Clarke admits his Redditch United side struggled to manage the game after surrendering the lead in a 1-1 against St Ives Town.
A penalty from Ryan Boothe put the Reds in front only for George Munday to draw the visitors level later in the second half at the Valley Stadium.
The result means United sit 14th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
And Clarke feels the amount of change at the club this season has made it difficult for his side to produce consistent performances.
Clarke said: “I thought it was a really poor game, it lacked quality from both teams, a game can swing on a mistake or a decision from the referee.
“We struggled to really get going in the first half and we came out with a little bit more purpose in the second half.
“We get a penalty, we score that and I felt we were going to be in control and didn’t feel we’d be under any threat.
“Sadly, we really struggled to manage the game and I felt we were hanging on to secure a point at home.
“The reality is we’re probably in the position in the league where we should be, the league is consistently inconsistent and we are.
“It’s another point on the board and keeps us further away from the relegation zone.
“There has been so much change this season from the management to the personnel, it’s very hard to find that blend and consistency when there’s been so much change.
“We’ve lost some very good players this season, it’s been very hard to be fluid but we’ve just got to keep working as hard as we can.”
The visitors had the game’s first chance as Reds skipper Kyle Rowley threw himself in the way of Munday’s goalbound shot.
Redditch had the ball in the net soon after only for the referee to bring play back for a foul by Reds striker Marvellous Onabirekhanlen much to the frustration of the home side.
However, chances were at a premium in the first half with the game goalless at the break.
After the break, Ollie Taylor made a fine save low down to his left to keep out Munday’s low effort across goal.
United felt they should have had a penalty soon after when Rowley saw his header from Jack Kelly’s corner blocked by the arm of a St Ives defender.
However, the referee penalised the visitors for handball moments later as Alex Collard missed his kick when attempting to clear a cross from the left and the ball popped up onto the defender’s arm.
And Boothe coolly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty spot on 57 minutes, placing his spot kick into the bottom left corner.
The Reds looked to double their lead as Dan Wilks held Nick Clayton-Phillips’ effort from 20-yards out.
However, St Ives drew level on 77 minutes when Munday produced a clinical finish into the top right corner from substitute Amir Hadi’s pass.
And the visitors almost completed the turnaround soon after as Munday flicked a first time shot against the crossbar from close range.
Redditch are next in action against AFC Telford United on Saturday, February 15 with kick-off at 3pm at New Bucks Head.
