REDDITCH United conceded two late goals as the Reds slipped to a 3-2 home defeat to Rushall Olympic having won away at St Ives Town last weekend.

United turned the game in their favour thanks to second-half goals from Robbie Bunn and Kieren Donnelly after Samuel Mantom’s opener in first-half injury time.

However, Thomas Thorley’s penalty and a late second from Mantom with six minutes left to play condemned the Reds to defeat at the Trico Stadium.

That came just two days after Redditch won 2-1 at St Ives thanks to goals either side of the break from Max Sheaf and debutant Lekan Osideko at Westwood Road.

The results leave Redditch in sixth place in the Southern League Premier Central table

Matt Clarke’s side fell behind to Rushall right on the stroke of half time when Mantom’s effort from the edge of the penalty are found the bottom left corner through a sea of bodies.

However, Redditch improved after the break and drew level when Bunn equalised on 52 minutes with a right-footed shot that deflected off of a Rushall defender and into the bottom left corner.

And the turnaround was complete on the hour mark when Donnelly volleyed home at the back post from Calum Flanagan’s cross.

Rushall restored parity on 75 minutes when Andre Landell was fouled in the box and Thorley stepped up to convert the resulting penalty despite Kieran Boucher guessing the right way.

And the visitors snatched all three points on 84 minutes when Mantom fired a first time effort into the roof of the net.

However, the Reds continue to impress on their travels as Clarke’s men won on the road at St Ives last weekend.

Redditch took an early lead on 15 minutes as Sheaf curled a stunning free-kick around the wall and into the top right corner via the aid of the right-hand post from the edge of the area.

The home side drew level on 50 minutes when Enoch Andoh stole in at the back post to finish Kane Lewis’s dangerous cross from close range.

However, the Reds restored their lead and secured the three points on 65 minutes when Osideko produced a fine finish on the turn to round off a flowing move with Bunn, Reece Flanagan and Lewis Hudson all involved.

Redditch are next in action at home to Royston Town on Saturday, October 1 with kick-off at 3pm at the Trico Stadium.
