STUDLEY FC were crowned Hellenic League Division One champions on Wednesday evening after their nearest rivals Worcester Raiders were unable to win their game in hand.

The Bees now have an eight-point lead with just two league games left to play after Worcester were beaten 3-2 at home by Pershore Town.

And Pershore’s victory came in dramatic fashion as Levi Steele struck an 89th minute winner to ensure Studley were crowned champions with two matches to spare.

Studley’s coaching team consists of manager’s Jon Edwards and Richard Briggs, coaches Simon Fitter and Connor McCarthy and physio Nadine Tipple.

And the Bees have enjoyed a memorable season, winning 23 of their 30 league matches thus far, with two draws and five defeats.

Studley will play their first game as league champions away at Shortwood United on Saturday, March 19 with kick-off at 3pm at Meadowbank Stadium.
