FOOTBALL - Studley FC move top with convincing win against FC Stratford

STUDLEY FC moved top of the Hellenic League Division One table with a convincing 3-0 win against FC Stratford on Tuesday night.

Sean Brain struck twice for the Bees either side of a goal from Alfie Bloomer as Studley returned to winning ways.

The result means Studley move one point above Clanfield 85 in the table whilst having three further games in hand on the Oxfordshire club.

And the Bees went ahead on 11 minutes when Brain scored from 10-yards out after turning his man inside out.

Bloomer then hit the post before finding the net on 18 minutes after Stratford failed to properly clear a corner.

Studley could have added to their lead before the break only for the Stratford goalkeeper to make a couple of fine saves.

And the Bees eventually put the game to bed on 46 minutes when Brain pounced on a defensive error to score his second of the game.

Studley are next in action at home to Shortwood United on Saturday, February 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the Beehive.
