High fives for rampant Reds Ladies

REDDITCH United Ladies fired another ominous warning shot of their West Midlands Women’s League Division One South title credentials as they thumped Worcestershire rivals Droitwich 5-0 on Sunday.

The visitors arrived at the Trico with three wins from four league matches to their name but found themselves overpowered by a Reds side who now sit third with three wins from as many games to their name.

The convincing win for Gary Barrell’s side sets them up perfectly for Sunday’s (2pm) home game against Solihull Moors of the FA Premier Midlands League in the SSE Women’s FA Cup third qualifying round.

With Sam Berry, Kerstin Ballard, Sian Cousins and Maisie Farr pulling the strings, the Reds took command and opened the scoring through a Mckenzie Karas thunderbolt.

Hard work from Amy Kendall was almost rewarded with a goal but it did become 2-0 when Ellie Gerhold converted following impressive work on the right from Mayme Conroy.

Sofi Liperis’ tireless work brought dividends with the crucial third goal when she fired home after a run on the right shortly into the second half.

Berry’s powerful strike made it 4-0 and the icing was put on the cake by Lucy Dovey whose commitment to chasing down lost causes saw her block a clearance and the ball rocketed into the Droitwich net.

Reds Ladies are always open to further sponsorship, of both the club and individual players. For details email [email protected].
