It's crunch time for Studley

Redditch Editorial 30th Aug, 2018   0

STUDLEY travel to Earlswood on Saturday for their penultimate game of the Warwickshire League Division One campaign having slipped back into the bottom two following two defeats over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Washford Fields side are second-bottom but just four points behind Pak Shaheen in the battle to beat the drop.

Studley were well beaten at leaders Moseley Ashfield on Saturday despite dismissing their hosts for 162 as Greg Moore took 3-23 and Muhammad Safyan 2-27. In reply, Studley could muster only 67 as Carey claimed 5-27.

Two days later Studley experienced arguably greater frustration when they went down by one wicket at promotion-chasing Kenilworth.

The talismanic Jack Williams continued his fine campaign with a knock of 68 in the visitors’ 132 all out and then took 4-9, but the home side were able to scrape their way to 133-9 thanks to Tom Booker’s 53.
