TITLE-CHASING Redditch Entaco will be looking to get back into the winning habit tomorrow (Saturday) when they entertain Feckenham at Bromsgrove Road (1.00).
With last week’s trip to Stourport being abandoned and with Astwood Bank and Chaddesley Corbett winning, the top four clubs in the Worcestershire League Premier Division are separated by just 21 points.
Redditch occupy second place in the table, 16 points behind Stourbridge and three ahead of Astwood Bank.
Skipper Russell Southwick was very disappointed last week’s match was abandoned by the umpires as the weather cleared up later in the afternoon.
The Firsts have some mouth-watering fixtures coming up with Feckenham tomorrow followed by an away fixture against Old Elizabethans, then home to Bewdley and on the August Bank Holiday weekend a vital trip to league leaders Stourbridge.
The Seconds’ top-of-the-table Division Three clash at home to Netherton also fell victim to the weather and stand-in skipper Luke Davis will be hoping for better things tomorrow as the 2nds, who lie second in the table, have a tricky fixture away at Martley.
The Thirds’ home fixture in Division Ten against Halesowen 4ths was abandoned with no play possible at all at Studley Sports & Social Club. The Thirds are third in the league, seven points behind Cookhill, as they prepare to visit Malvern Seconds on Saturday.
Completing a frustrating weekend, the Sunday side’s match at Coombs Wood in the Arden Sunday League Division Four was also washed out. Leaders Redditch sit 11 points clear of Marston Green and the top two meet at Marston Green’s Bickenhill home on Sunday (2.00).
