SHIHAN 6th Dan Dave Treadwell has been inducted into the UK Martial Arts Hall of Fame at an awards dinner at the National Brewery Centre in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire.
Shihan Treadwell, from Furi Sutairu Karate in Redditch, was recognised with a place in the Hall of Fame by the owner of Martial Arts Illustrated magazine Bob Sykes and fellow 6th Dan Paul Barnett for his continued support and services to martial arts in the UK
And Shihan Treadwell, who has been teaching and training in Shotokan Karate for more than 38 years, was honoured to receive the award.
Shihan Treadwell said: “To be inducted into the Hall of Fame with so many world famous martial artists was a great honor.
“Martial arts, for me, is not just about your growth in the dojo but how you can have an impact on supporting others and this award shows that.
“I was stunned when I first got the letter, being inducted to the UK Hall of Fame is such an achievement.
“2022 has been a great year so far for myself and FSK, we have travelled the country competing and had many students taking podium finishes.
“On top of many, many, competitions, I have had the opportunity to support and teach at other clubs up and down the country and be awarded Shihan status and also my 6th Dan so this award really tops off a great 2022 so far.
“A big thank you to all that have supported me in martial arts so far on my journey and I look forward to continuing this for many years to come.”
