FECKENHAM’S two postponed cup games have been rescheduled.
The Millers will now visit Hampton in the Presidents Cup on Wednesday, April 4 (6pm) at Hampton Sports Club and the following week will head to Fairfield Villa for an Evesham Hospital Junior Cup tie at the Recreation Ground on Thursday, April 12 (6.10pm).
The weather misery continued for Aaron Blackwood’s side on Saturday when their scheduled Midland League Division Two home game against title favourites NKF Burbage was postponed due to snow.
The sixth-placed Millers have played only three games in 2018 and joint assistant manager Tom Davies is hoping Saturday’s expected return to action at fourth-placed Northfield Town – three points above Feckenham having played two more matches – will live up to expectations.
“It’s a very good opportunity to bounce back from our disappointing defeat to Coton Green against a good side. We’re all about testing ourselves,” said Davies.
“It’ll be important we’ve learned a few lessons from that defeat. If we have, then I have no doubt we’ll acquit ourselves well.
“Northfield have similar ambitions to ourselves this season and we’ll go there looking to earn a vital victory.
“We’re aware they have got a good record going at home so we know what we’re up against.
“The group trained well with Aaron (Blackwood) on Tuesday. There was a good confidence about the place.
“They’re prepared and ready for the weekend and it won’t be for a want of trying to get a positive result that lets us down. I’m sure of that.”
