REDDITCH United surrendered a two-goal half-time lead in a 2-2 draw against Long Eaton United in the club’s third pre-season friendly.
United led by two goals at the break courtesy of goals from Liam Loughlan and Dan Sweeney at Grange Park.
However, Step Four side Long Eaton staged a second-half comeback to deny Redditch a third successive pre-season victory.
Redditch confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Rory Brown before kick-off after the shot-stopper left rivals Bromsgrove Sporting following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
And United broke the deadlock on 32 minutes when Loughlan’s deflected effort looped over the Long Eaton goalkeeper and into the net as the midfielder scored against his former club.
The Reds doubled their lead four minutes before the break as Sweeney drew a foul in the box and picked himself up to score the resulting penalty.
Long Eaton halved the deficit after the interval on 56 minutes with a finish at the back post after Brown made a fine initial save.
And the home side equalised six minutes later when a Long Eaton player chested a free-kick from the left over the line at the near post.
Redditch continue their pre-season campaign against Sporting Club Inkberrow on Tuesday, July 14 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Sands Road.
