ALCESTER RFC brought an end to another enjoyable and encouraging season for their junior section with the annual awards event, at which honours were handed out as follows:

U6/7s Coaches’ Player – Ben Mucklow; Most Improved – James Faulks; U8/9s Coaches’ Player – Toby Magnall; Most Improved – Tomos Williams; U10s Coaches’ Player – Dylan Lippett; Players’ Player – Harvey Sharpe; U11s Coaches’ Player – Henry Willison; Players’ Player – Matty Harland; U13s Coaches’ Player – Tom Watson; Players’ Player – Ben Walsh; U14s Coaches’ Player – Leo Clarke; Players’ Player – Oscar Holland; Parents’ Player – Sam Sullivan; Tour Player – Kyle Turner; U15s Coaches’ Player – Ed Hudson; Players’ Player – Callum Wright.

THERE will be various activities at the club over the summer months, ahead of the return to action in September for the new season. New players will always be made welcome and contact details and further information can be obtained from the Alcester RFC pitchero website.

ALCESTER Court Leet will be hosting the Alcester Street Market on Sunday, June 8 and, continuing club tradition, Alcester RFC is again organising the Annual Alcester Fun Run starting at 11am.

There are two routes – a three-mile family fun run mainly around the streets of Alcester and for the more hardened runners a five-mile run cross country – with both races starting in the High Street and ending on the recreation ground.

Last year’s event saw over 200 runners and was a great success and has brought inspiration to this year in the shape of the newly-introduced School Trophy Challenge.

A number of local schools have already shown an interest, but more entrants would be welcomed and further information can be obtained from the Alcester RFC pitchero website.

Organisers also hope to introduce an inter-club competition as well as the usual competition for juniors and adults. Entry fee is £3 for juniors and £5 for adults.

The routes will be well marked and supported by Alcester RFC marshals and individual or team runners are welcome.
