WITH a view to building on the success of the current season, the youth section at Alvechurch Lions are holding an open trials event on Saturday, May 9.
The two youth teams, which include players from primary schools in Alvechurch, Redditch and the surrounding areas, are coming to the end of an extremely successful season, including victory in the Central Warwickshire Youth Cup.
There are now opportunities for enthusiastic young footballers, currently in year three or four, to be part of the success in the seven-a-side format next season too.
The free trials will take place on May 9, starting at 11am at Hopwood Community Centre. Interest is likely to be high, so pre-registration before the event is essential and to do so you should e-mail Dave Ruston on email@example.com.
Dave said: “We are opening our doors on May 9 to allow both experienced and inexperienced local footballers to get a taste for competitive football. The only pre-requisite is that they have plenty of passion for the sport!”
The Lions are also looking to open up footballing opportunities to younger development age groups (five-a-side). If your child is currently in year one or two and you share a joint passion for football, club representatives will be on hand at the event to discuss coaching opportunities with interested parents.
Alvechurch Lions are an established FA Charter Standard Club with CRB-checked qualified coaches and a variety of great facilities in the Alvechurch area. They play in the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League.
