An action-packed weekend in Combination

THERE was a mixture of Division One, Terry Cup and Worcester Nursing Junior Cup matches played across the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination programme on Sunday.

In the league, Feckenham Sunday and SSS Lions maintained their unbeaten starts to the season.

Feckenham beat Beoley Village 5-1 thanks to four goals from George Tolley and a strike from Connor Perry-Holmes, with Christos Papoulios the Beoley scorer.

SSS Lions took on Redditch Borough and were 4-2 victors through goals from Brendan Hicks, Ashley Woodfield, Ben Ellicott and Mark Jovanovic. Will Skelton and Matt Cooke netted for Borough.




CBH Fasteners maintained their unbeaten start to the league with a convincing 9-0 victory over AFC Windmill in which Nath Simon and Nath Davies both scored two goals to help them on their way to all three points, with Nick Gregson-Jones, Callum Davies, Sean Parish, James Morrall and Ollie Parsons also contributing.

After picking up their first point the previous weekend, Redditch Town were in the points again as they won 4-2 at Elite United thanks to a hat-trick from Chris Adams and goal from Andy Watkins. Sean Maglocklin and Harry Garner struck for the home side.


VKL United picked up their first points of the season with an impressive 3-0 win over South Redditch in which the goals were scored by Tom Powell, Sam Osmond and Mal Williams.

In the Worcester Nursing Junior Cup, Broughsons thumped Astwood 9-1 with four goals from Shay Palmer and efforts from Ben Higgens, Daniel Gafney, Dave White, Mark Wilkes and Adam Watson. Jake Pollard scored for Astwood.

Studley Lions exited 3-0 to Bromsgrove Corinthians, whose goals came from James Ward, Joe Robinson and Jack Steele.

All first round Terry Cup fixtures have now been played after Frankley United and Redditch United Cross drew 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Frankley’s goal was scored by Josh Moore and Redditch Cross’ goal by Richard Lane and it was Cross who advanced 5-4 on penalties.
