POWER Maxed Racing will expand to a four-car entry in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Nick Halstead has returned to the Studley-based team with Power Maxed Racing to field four card in the BTCC for the first time in their history.

Halstead previously raced for Power Maxed in 2025 and then relocated to Australia where he remained an active driver.

The team’s first four-car appearance will come at Knockhill in Scotland on the weekend of August 8 and 9.

Raceday in Scotland will mark exactly one year to the day since a devastating fire ripped through the team’s former base in Evesham.

Power Maxed Racing team principal, Adam Weaver said: “Expanding to four cars is a significant step for Power Maxed Racing and reflects the continued progress the team has made in recent seasons.

“It’s a credit to everyone involved, both on and off-track.

“When we looked at the opportunity to add a fourth entry, Nick was a natural fit.

“He understands how the team operates, integrated well in 2025, and has continued to build experience since then.

“With it also commemorating the anniversary of the fire, with Nick providing so much support in getting back racing this time last year, it’s very fitting that he is getting in the car at Knockhill.

“We’re pleased to welcome him back and look forward to working with him again.”

Halstead added: “I’m really pleased to be returning to Power Maxed Racing and back on the BTCC grid.

“Since moving to Australia I’ve had some great opportunities to continue racing, but the BTCC has always been where I wanted to be competing.

“It’s great to be back with a team I know well, and I’m looking forward to getting started again and seeing what we can achieve together.”
