REDDITCH heavyweight Simon Ibekwe will box on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s latest fight in Thailand later this month.
Ibekwe (6-0) is preparing for the biggest fight of his career to date with the Redditch boxer to take on Daniel Dietz (15-1-1) on Friday, July 24.
The bout marks a significant step up in class for Ibekwe with Dietz a former IBF European heavyweight champion.
The fight will take place in Pattaya, Thailand and forms part of the undercard for former British heavyweight king Fury’s headline bout against Mariusz Wach.
Dietz has won 14 of his 16 bouts by knockout and suffered his only defeat by split decision against compatriot Granit Shala with IBF international and inter-continental belts up for grabs.
The German fighter boxed to a majority draw in his most recent bout against Seun Salami in January earlier this year.
Ibekwe last took to the ring in September 2025 where he secured a TKO victory against Milos Veletic.
Ibekwe splits his training between Athena Performance in Redditch and Darlaston Boxing Gym.
The fight will be filmed by Netflix as part of Fury’s series ‘At Home with the Furys’.
Headliner Fury is boxing for just the second time since 2024 when he lost by unanimous decision to Oleksandr Usyk in a heavyweight title clash in Saudi Arabia.
Fury is tuning up for a showdown with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua later this year.
