NUMEROUS local businesses have given backing to Jump Rope UK by way of kit sponsorship ahead of July’s World Jump Rope Championships.

Rachael Rollisson, Jump Rope UK director and head coach, said: “We really appreciate the support of Alcester Broach, Thomas Brothers The Funeral Directors, The Van Hubb, Hubb Systems, Bayliss Group Electrics and RB Plumbing & Heating Services Ltd.”

The team of 11 Jump Rope UK members will be travelling to Florida on July 1 to participate in the World Championships, with hopes of bringing back some medals.

The squad have been training and fund-raising hard since September to make this a possibility. The jumpers selected to represent the team this year are Caitlin Speirs, Olivia Beattie, Florence Williams, Amy Gerrard, Evie Lowe, Jessica Nodwell, Libby Herauville, Esmee Beattie, Caitlin Colley, Emily Dyer and Stacie Pegg.

Competition team coaches Rachael Rollisson and Rebecca Cooper have been preparing the girls all year for this opportunity and are excited to see the team compete in the USA.

Jump Rope UK are holding an in-house competition for all their members on Saturday, June 17 to not only prepare those selected for the World Championships, but for the whole team to demonstrate their hard work this year. Spectators are welcome at the Abbey Stadium between 1-5pm.

You can keep up to date with the girls’ progress on Jump Rope UK’s Facebook page and at www.jumpruk.com.
