REDDITCH have been boosted by the prospect of an immediate return to the pitch following the end of the second national lockdown.
While competitive hockey remains out of the question for both the men’s and women’s sections until the new year, an announcement by the Midland Region Hockey Association means training and friendlies can now take place once again.
With Worcestershire falling under Tier Two of the government’s revised coronavirus restrictions, the Kingfishers are free to hold training sessions and arrange warm-up games with other sides in Tier Two.
For the men’s sides and women’s teams – who compete in the Midland Hockey League and Worcestershire League respectively – a restart date of January 9 has been set for competitive play to resume.
