Charity donation boosts thriving boxing club

REDDITCH Community Amateur Boxing Club would like to extend huge thanks to the Redditch Masonic Charity which has very kindly donated the sum of £188.

RCABC is growing in numbers day by day and is now looking to extend its services to the community, so this kind donation will go towards much-needed equipment for these new up and coming classes.

The Matchborough Centre club uses boxing, martial arts and sports recreation as a vehicle for social change and community integration.

The club opened in October last year and has been going from strength to strength but, like any new venture, it needs all the support it can get in the first year of opening and is really pleased to have gained the backing of the masonic charity.

John Rice, representative of the charity, came along to the club’s open day to present the cheque at an event which proved a huge success and will be the first of many exciting occasions still to come.

“We appreciate all the support we get from the community, local businesses and charities, and we are keen to do as much positive work as we can and add some much-needed services into Redditch,” said club director Sarah Lee.

“The local support is not only encouraging but also an integral part of what we do, so please keep it up.”
