ALVECHURCH players are looking the part ahead of tomorrow’s (Wednesday) pre-season encounter at Tipton Town after a visit to sponsor Barney’s Barbers, writes Matt Holland.

The village-based hairdresser welcomed defender Jamie Willets, midfielder Andy Parsons and fellow sponsor Adam Angine of RRB Builders.

Willets said: “The lads are now all looking sharp and are rearing to go for the new season.”

Alvechurch are preparing to welcome local rivals Bromsgrove Sporting to Lye Meadow for another friendly on Tuesday, July 18 (7.30pm), when council members will be attending to hand out awards to both teams following their league and cup-winning exploits of last season.

Alvechurch will this week (Thursday) discover their fixtures ahead of their debut season in Northern Premier League South.

Ian Long’s side will host either Hanley Town or Atherstone Town in the FA Cup preliminary round and visit Belper Town in the FA Trophy preliminary round.
