THE INAUGURAL Redditch Darts Open proved a great success and it was Matt Dicken who took the winner’s prize thanks to some fantastic arrows.
Players flocked from far and wide, including Europe, to Saturday’s competition at South Redditch Sports & Social Club.
Organiser and sponsor Matthew Friel, owner of Frielco Driving School, said: “There was some top tungsten thrown and right from the start of the preliminary round players were hitting 180s and 100-plus finishes.
“The final between Matt Dicken and Phil Rooney featured some high quality scoring and excellent finishing and the highest checkout came from Pat Pace with a stunning 158.”
Plans are in place for another Redditch Darts Open on a date to be confirmed.
